About this clinic

Train with two-time Olympic gold medalist and American record holder Tom Shields across two focused days. Day 1 breaks down the elite underwater dolphin kick that made Tom one of the most feared short course butterflyers in the world. Day 2 turns to butterfly racing: stroke technique, race strategy, and pure speed. Held at Sonora High School in La Habra. Ages 11 to 18, all competitive levels welcome. Book one day or both.

    Tom Shields
    2x Olympic Gold Medalist · American Record Holder

    A two-time Olympic gold medalist (4x100m medley relay, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020) and current American record holder in the 50m and 200m short course butterfly. An 11-time NCAA champion at Cal Berkeley and four-time World Championship gold medalist, Tom is renowned for one of the greatest underwater dolphin kicks in the sport. He was the first man ever under 44 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly and a 2019 Pan American Games double gold medalist. Now retired from racing, he coaches full-time and tours as an elite clinician.

    A 3x World Championships qualifier and 7x Salvadoran national record holder. Marina is a Pan American Games finalist, a 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier, an NCAA qualifier, and the Arizona State team captain in 2016. She has taught 100+ swim clinics.
